And now we all go: EEEEEEEEE!!!
Of course, this only just happened, which means that we'll have to wait way too long to get any updates on when the movie will start filming or which actors are in the running to play our favorite key characters. But it's never too early to start throwing opinions around! So, while Hollywood starts its engine to bring this book to life on screen, we'll be lounging on our casting couch with a few favorite picks for Karou—the blue-haired, multilingual, tattooed heroine who makes the whole story go BOOM.

After playing Luna Lovegood in the "Harry Potter" films, Evanna is well-prepared to tangle with supernatural creatures and fight in an otherworldly war—and we'd love to see her in a starring role. Plus, we know she doesn't mind dyeing her hair a wild color for the sake of her art.

She might be a teensy bit too old to play the teenage Karou, but with her pale skin and dramatic, deep-set eyes, Ava definitely looks the part. And with only a handful of minor roles under her belt (you might recognize her from "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay") this role could be the breakout performance that jump-starts her career.

Her turn as Effy in the UK version of "Skins" left no doubt as to Kaya's abilities—girlfriend can act, for real. And we're not the only ones who noticed; for awhile, her name was prominent in conversations about which up-and-coming actress would be cast as Katniss in "The Hunger Games." Could the lead role in a different YA trilogy-turned-feature-film be her destiny?

Tania is probably best known for her stint on "Lost," where she played the adopted daughter of manipulative madman Benjamin Linus, but lately she's been right here on MTV, playing an investigative officer on "Death Valley." But that's okay; we'd let Universal borrow her so she could lend her lithe, wide-eyed look to our new most-anticipated movie.

Nobody can go from quivering vulnerability to high-octane butt-kicking like "Sucker Punch" actress Emily, whose range as an actress would come in handy for this complex role.
