Plus Amber and Gary’s no contact order is revised and Catelynn and Tyler struggle with the decision to invite Carly to their high school graduation. Did you watch the final episode of the season?
It was a gripping third season of Teen Mom — and tonight’s finale topped it off. After 12 episodes of baby daddy drama, court issues, counseling sessions, baby play dates and jail time, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell‘s latest journey on the hit MTV show has come to an end. But did you watch? Share your thoughts on the final episode!
Farrah: Farrah and her family celebrate Sophia‘s second birthday with tons of gifts and treats, of course. Farrah gets really emotional thinking about her life and how it’s been put on hold for Sophia. Her mom tries to tell her that that’s why she wants Sophia to stay with her in Iowa while she pursues her dreams and lives her life in Florida. Farrah has not gotten passed Derek’s death and is stuck in a rut she can’t get out of – and her mom and dad see that.
When she meets with her friend, Farrah tells her that Sophia might stay with her parents while she takes time out for herself — is she really going to do this? Farrah writes down the pros and cons on a etch a sketch board in front of Sophia and decides that it’s better for both of them if she stays. Wow, what a mature way to come to a huge decision like this — what is Farrah crazy?
While out shopping, Farrah tells her mom her final decision — that she will leave Sophia home in Iowa with her and Michael so that she can give herself the chance to be the mom she wants to be in Florida. Do you think she chose the best decision or should she be taking Sophia with her?
Before jetting off to Ft. Lauderdale, Farrah takes Sophia on a tour of all the places that remind her of Derek (and narrates the whole trip, which was pretty strange considering Sophia doesn’t understand what she’s saying). All in all, Farrah and Sophia had a good season that resulted in BIG changes.
Maci: Maci is worried that her rocky friendship with Ryan is affecting Bentley and her relationship with Kyle. She wants to change the situation and make sure she and Ryan no longer see each other when they exchange Bentley. Maci sends Ryan’s mom Jen a text that she wants to talk about her problems with Ryan. Tattle tale Jen tells Ryan that he needs to talk to Maci and figure out what’s going on.
An angry Maci shows up at Ryan’s house and tells him she doesn’t want to see him during pick-up or drop-off times anymore. She thinks their relationship is harming Bentley and doesn’t want to make matters worse. Ryan flips out and blames Kyle for everything — Ryan open your eyes, you’re to blame!
When the plan doesn’t work out the first time around since Maci’s parents were both working, Maci is forced to meet Ryan at school to drop off Bentley, but they don’t exchange one word. Awkward.
Ryan has a little chat with his dad about building a friendship with Maci, and he, shockingly, seems to take it to heart. He sends her a text that reads, “For what it’s worth I’m sorry for all the fighting.” Wow, good for you Ryan! They meet at a restaurant to talk about how they could make everything work out — starting with how Ryan has to “give a damn” about his son and stop calling Maci names.
Once the Ryan drama is behind them, Maci talks to Kyle about marriage and having more kids. They agree they’ll get hitched “sooner than later,” but insist they aren’t ready right now. But Maci gets emotional when she thinks about raising Bentley as a single mom and is scared that Kyle might never be ready to get married and have kids of their own.
Catelynn: Catelynn and Tyler try to figure out where Tyler’s dad Butch can stay while he’s on parole for three months. They decide he can stay with them and make a list of some ground rules. If Butch doesn’t follow them, he’s kicked out.
Butch talks to Catelynn and Tyler about Carly and how he’ll react when he sees her at their high school graduation. He worries that he won’t be able to handle not being able to hold her or call her his granddaughter — obviously, he still doesn’t support their decision to put Carly up for adoption. Catelynn calls her dad and asks for his opinion on the whole graduation thing — he thinks it might not be a good idea for everyone to be there, especially with Carly around.
Catelynn and Tyler decide that having their parents at their graduation ceremony is more important than having Brandon, Teresa and Carly there. It’s a tough sacrifice, but they have to weigh out the options. They write Brandon and Teresa a letter saying it’s best if they and Carly stay home and don’t come to the graduation. They get emotional and start talking about having more kids — in say, 10 years. Good choice guys!
Sadly, Butch lands himself back in prison after he gets caught doing drugs again. Tyler, Catelynn and Catelynn’s mom are devastated and tired of him choosing the wrong path and betraying his family. We feel for them.
Amber: Amber and Gary are trying to get the no contact order lifted so that they can be together with Leah as a real family again. Court is suspended because of an ice storm and Amber gets really frustrated and worried about what’s going to happen. She tells her girlfriend that all of the woman in her family were “b**ch slappers” and treated their men badly, but she will make sure Leah doesn’t inherit that trait. Yeah, we hope so!
Gary says that the no contact order has made him realize he loves Amber and that “she completes” him. He wants to get back together, but is not sure Amber wants the same. Gary and Amber FINALLY go to court after the ice storm subsides and their no contact order gets revised! They can’t be together around Leah, but they can be together just the two of them whenever they want. But Amber admits she’s not ready to be in a relationship with Gary again — she needs some time alone.
Gary surprises Amber by performing a song — over the phone — and tells her that he has feelings for her and loves her to death. But, she doesn’t feel the same and Gary is left heartbroken. Poor thing!
