say, beyonce, what where youre favorite songs of 2011?

With 2011 rounding to a close, Beyoncé is doing the same thing that all of us other music fans are doing—discussing, debating and listing the top songs of the year. Bey recently posted a list of her ten favorite songs of ’11 to her website, without any ordering or elaboration—just ten quality jams from the year that was. The list, then:

Big Sean feat. Nicki Minaj – “Dance (A$$)”
Future – “Tony Montana”
Jay-Z & Kanye West – “Ni**as in Paris”
Kelly Rowland feat. Lil Wayne – “Motivation”
Adele – “Someone Like You”
Drake feat. Lil Wayne – “The Motto”
Rihanna – “Man Down”
Justin Bieber & Chris Brown – “Look at Me Now”
James Blake – “The Wilhelm Scream”
Frank Ocean – “Novacane”
Some high-quality choices there from the Queen B, including three songs that made our own top ten of the year—”Niggas in Paris,” “Novacane,” and “Look At Me Now.” (Interestingly, Beyoncé lists the Chris Brown and Justin Bieber version of LAMN—to our knowledge, only performed once live in Sydney—and not the traditional version featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne instad of The Bieb. She goes deep, that Beyoncé.) The others are all fairly predictable—no, Adele doesn’t count as a surprise just because she’s not hip-hop or R&B—with the notable exception of James Blake’s “The Wilhelm Scream,” a dubstep’n'B (totally a genre) cut that’s a little unexpected to show up on Bey’s radar.
Gotta include one to keep the fans guessing, we suppose—though we would’ve gone with Deadboy’s “Ain’t Gonna Lie” instead. Just sayin’. Also, no “Countdown”? What gives?
