Katy Perry is officially MTV's Artist of the Year for 2011!
She said it was "pretty cool", especially because she "wasn't allowed to watch MTV growing up, so this feels really validating, and I've had a fantastic year, a great tour, and a great run." She also gave a huge thanks, and said "I really appreciate it."
The runner-up for the title was Nicki Minaj, who exploded on the music scene this year. And third place went to Adele, who's album 21 is topping all kinds of charts. Talk about girl power!
